Power electronics Drives (PED) Projects

Power Electronics is major application in Electrical Motor based Industrial Application. The very best benefit of using power drives in industry applications is to bring smooth control, with regulated and low loss power consumption.  There are primarily two types of Motors AC Motors and DC Motors.

They are verity of DC Motor control methods which focused on different segments like DC DC Converters and Control systems etc. AC Motors includes PMSM, Induction motors, BLDC, SRM, all these categories are widely hard in motor segments category.

We can simulate all these motor control projects in Matlab/Simulink, there different approaches to build a power drive control, like by utilizing different control methods like PID Controller application, Vector control methods, flux control,DTC control etc.

Speed Control of Three-Phase Induction Motors: A MATLAB Simulation Project

Three-phase induction motors are the workhorses of industrial applications, known for their reliability and efficiency. Controlling their speed is crucial for optimizing performance. This MATLAB simulation project explores popular speed control methods like Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) and voltage control. VFDs adjust the frequency of power supplied to the motor, allowing precise speed control and energy efficiency. On the other hand, voltage control, although less efficient, adjusts the motor’s speed by varying the voltage.

Additionally, we’ll dive into pole-changing and rotor resistance control methods. Pole-changing alters the motor’s speed by changing the number of poles in the stator winding, providing discrete speed settings. Rotor resistance control, primarily used in wound rotor induction motors, introduces external resistance into the rotor circuit, enabling wide-ranging speed control. This project will provide a comprehensive understanding of these techniques through practical MATLAB simulations.

At Chieftronics Pro our academic project experts’ offer customized idea implementation on induction motor speed control hardware projects.
